Page Numbers in PowerPoint

Is there a way to put a section break in a PowerPoint
presentation? We need different page numbers in the
second half of a presentation. e.g. section 1 is numbered
i-iv, section 2 is numbered 1-5.
We thought of manually numbering each page but that
becomes a problem when slides are shuffled as the
presentation is refined.

Not really, but ....there are a few options.

1) Ignore the slide numbers. They are primarily for determining sequence,
not for labeling.

2) Insert blank hidden slides. You could "fill in" the gaps in the
presentation to make each section's sequence begin with a power of 10 (IOW,
section 1 is slides 1 to 9, section 2 is slides 10 to 19, section 3 is 20 to
29, etc.)

3) Create a linked presentation. Each section would be it's own
presentation with a link back to the main or previous presentation.

What you are looking for is chapter style numbering, and in my opinion would
be an excellent addition to PowerPoint's next release. If you get some
time, you may want to mention this to Bill.
