I can't find this in the MS Knowledge Base or in previous
posts, so here goes:

How do I get a Word document to start pagination on the
third page, but number it as page 1? I can easily get it
to number the first page with a "3", but that's not what I
want. I want the first two pages to have no numbers, and
then the third page to say "1," the fourth page to
say "2," etc etc.

I'm using Word 9.0 with Windows 2000. Thanks.

Jerry,

Put a section break (Insert>Break>Next Page) at the bottom of page 2. You
now have a two section document. When you format your page numbering in
section 2 select start at 1.

E-mail for additional help, within reason, if you like. I may not
always solve your problem, but no charge if I do. To e-mail, first edit
out the "w...spam" in the displayed address.

Before you insert the page number in Section 2, however, click Same as
Previous (to turn it off) to unlink Section 2 from Section 1 so that the
Section 1 header/footer will remain empty.
