Page Number Truncated on Printing

For the first time I have a document that exceeds 1000 pages. I added page numbers and when printed, all pages above 999 truncate the right most number. Print preview shows the page as "100n" but only "100" prints. I can't find any way to format this bottom, centered page number to allow more field width to print all four digits

Any help would be much appreciated. Please also cc general post response to james.castellan "at" bigfoot.co

Thank you.

There are two approaches that will work:

1. View | Header and Footer. This will put you in the header pane with the
Header and Footer toolbar displayed.

2. Click the Switch Between Header and Footer button on the H&F toolbar to
get to the footer pane.

3. Click on the page number, which is in a frame. You should see the frame
outlined with a box with black handles.

a. The trivial solution is to drag the handles to make the box large
enough to accommodate a four-digit number. The frame is supposed to be
formatted to have Auto height and width, but for some reason occasionally it
isn't big enough.

b. A better solution is to click on the black border till you see a
hashed outline, then press Delete to remove the entire framed page number.
This will put you in the Header paragraph. Press Ctrl+E to Center and click
the Insert Page Number button to insert your page number. Because the page
number is in a text paragraph rather than a frame, it can grow to a hundred
digits if necessary without being truncated.
