Hi... i just published a website not too recently. However, when i access the website, 2 of the pages cannot be found. I tried accessing it through the host server and reloaded the html documents. It still comes up as PAGE NOT FOUND(HTTP 404). (FP2003 w/ extension is the one i'm using). Help on this PLEASE........... and thanks in advance.

Hi Marcus,

A URL for the site and the missing page would be helppful.

Verify that the case of the filename actually matches the case of the filename in the link.
Unix/Linux servers are case sensitive.

Good Day to You,

These posts are old, but the problem is current for me. The entire answer to
this problem doesn’t seem to be posted, or I’m just confused. I’m hoping
someone will respond.

I have the same “Page Not Found Error 404†problem with my site published in
FTP with Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003.

The file names are the same on both the Local and Remote web sites.

I tried deleting and publishing again, recreated the web page, and even
deleted and published the entire site.

My site is Arth’s Links at http://www.arthslinks.com.

Here is the URL for the error page:
http://www.arthslinks.com/SECRET AFFILIATE WEAPON – EWEN CHIA.htm

What else can I do?

My Best to You
Arth

Are you on a Windows or Unix Server? If you're on a Unix Server the file
names are case-sensitive. Check and make sure the case's are correct. Also,
remove the spaces in the file names (use underscores or something else if
you need the space.

You say you used FTP? Does your server have the FrontPage Server Extensions
on it? If so you need to "publish" your site from FrontPage (File, Publish
Site) or you'll corrupt the server extensions.

Hi David,

Thanks for your quick reply.

My host does use UNIX, but FrontPage couldn’t find the extensions. The help
files say something about that they are no longer supporting updates for the
extensions, yet they claim to be compatible to 2003. I’m not sure what that
means.

I just finished a support ticket with my host.

I’ll try the underscore approach before going to bed.

Your suggestion is much appreciated.

My Best to You
Arth
