Page not Displaying correctly in IE6

I'm having a problem with certain parts of web pages. They are not
displaying. For example , some buttons do not display, such as a logout
button, but if you move the cursor over where it should be, the little hand
pops up and the button works. Also some help info, such as the description
of a movie in netflix when you move the cursor over it display as with out
totally blocking out the text underneath, making it hard to read.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this. I used the button to reset IE6
options to default with no success.

Thanks

Are these pages someone else made, or pages you have made?

In either case, a URL would be helpful, but in the latter case, first
search the web for an IE bug called the 'peekaboo bug', as that bug can
cause such problems, and workarounds exist. Note that the peekaboo bug
was fixed in IE7.

No this happens on normal corporate websites like my bank and netflix, among
others. I looked at peekaboo and that seems to relate to pages I create
myself.

Any other ideas?
