Page not changing after Publish?

I have a curious problem which has just cropped up...I changed a page
(called, say, 'leftcolumn') and published the site. However the changes do
not appear when I look at the page in a browser (and yes, I have refreshed
the browser view and also used multiple browsers).

The page ('leftcolumn') is an included page component in another page (say,
'completepage') and this page (i.e. 'completepage') also shows the old
content, prior to my making the changes in 'leftcolumn'.

When I compare the contents of my Local Site with those of the Remote Site
(using Folder View in FP2003), I find that 'leftcolumn' shows identical file
attributes (modified date, time etc.) on both the local and remote sites,
EXCEPT that my local site has a file size of 12656B whereas the remote site
has 12670B. (This is also surprising since the only edit on 'leftcolumn' I
made was in a number, i.e. there should have been no change in the total
file size).

Why does this happen and how can I resolve it?

It could be the server it's hosted on has the file cached in memory (thus
sending an old version).

It could be your ISP is using a proxy server (which also does caching).

Or your ISP's ISP is using a proxy server.....

Or it could be a device on your network doing caching...

Or a "web accellerator" program...

Or your web browser is not actually clearing cache...

Or, if it's a component like an include menu, you may have to recalculate
hyperlinks on the remote web to get it to show.

A lot of these things you can't do anything about. Though you could time it
to see if it goes away. If it's always 15 minutes or something it's a safe
bet it's a proxy server somewhere. You probably cannot fix the issue.

(How about a different computer? Does it work if you use a web translation
program? How about a different browser or different ISP?)
 
When I've had this problem, I delete the file from the server and upload it
again. That way the old was can't interfere...
 
Server files sizes may be different from local files due to the difference in the cluster sizes on both

Open you remote site in FP and run a Tools Recalculate hyperlinks
