All,

I have a report in Access that is set up for legal paper, landscape,
with .5 inch margins all around. In the Design view, my fields go all
the way from 1 inch to 11 inches, but when I preview or print, there
is about 2.5 inches of white space on the right side. I could cut down
a bit on the number of pages in this report (currently 50) if I could
get it to more efficiently use the paper. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Sarah

Are you printing in Landscape or Portrait mode? What is the width of the
report? How many columns are in the report? If more than one column, what is
the spacing between them and the width of the columns?

As an example to see if it helps, legal paper is 8.5x14. If printing in
Portrait mode with a 1/2" margin on each side, you will have an available
width of 7.5" for your report. If printing in Landscape mode with a 1/2"
margin on each side, you will have an available width of 13" for your
report. Is your report that wide and do you have controls the full width of
the report?

Do you have textboxes on the right side that may be wide enough to fill the
width of the report but the data in them is short enough that you're not
filling the textboxes? For example, if I have a textbox 6" wide, but the
only thing in it is the word "Hello" and it is left aligned, I'm going to
have about 5.75" of empty space on the right side when I print the report.

Wayne,

Okay, I feel like a complete idiot now. All it took was for me to read
the first line of your posting. For some reason, I had 11" in my head
as the width, so that's how I had the report set up. I just changed it
to 13" (to account for the margins) and now it's using the whole page.

Thanks!
Sarah
