If you choose to set the page file to a custom size and
choose a min of 2meg and a max of 4meg, winxp just keeps
the file at 1.5 x them memory you have.
If you disable the page file, My machine will boot and
then just as the welcome screen is about to appear, the
system reboots over and over again.
I have 1 gig of ram and wanted to test WinXP without the
paging file, and defragment the hard drive without it
there to get continous block of data.
Can I not get rid of it, are there advantages to keeping
it? Why should I need it with 1 gig of ram?
Thanks
