Hi
My home PC using Windows XP Home Edition has developed
problems with the Page File Usage. After about 10 mins of
normal use, it maxes out at around 1.3gb. This makes the
PC unusable! All standard procedures have been used to try
and resolve tzhe issue (defrag, scandisk, antivirus,
windows updates etc.)
Can anyone help, or tell me what the best course of action
would be, before I resort to formatting the disk?
Thanks

I would suspect you have a rogue process running that has a memory leak.
Try using Task Manager to see who is sucking up the memory. Open
Task Manager (Ctrl/Alt/Del) and add the column for Memory Usage (View/
Select Columns). Sort the list by Memory Usage by clicking the Mem Usage
column heading. From there is should be clear who the culprit is. Either
get rid of that software product or contact the manufacturer to see if they
have a patch.
