I am installing W2K on my new server, Asus A7V600, 1Gb
KingMax 3200DDR, 2 120GB Seagate SATA Drive Raid 1. I
start Installation, pop in the 3rd part drivers for my
harddrives, it starts to copy file and then.... I get a
blue screen with that error. I've checked almost
everything, cable connections, different CD-Roms,
different floppy discs, formated harddrive with Windows
and the Seagate tools, returned my memory and got the more
expensive "recommended by Asus" memory. Asus is not
calling me back and I have run out of Ideas. Can anyone
help?

STOP 0x50's are kernel mode driver faults typically, usually antivirus. If
you have AV installed in the BIOS, disable it. That being said, any blue
screen during a clean installation will be a hardware issue for the most
part. If you dont have AV on in the BIOS, then I would look at removing
unneeded hardware until you can narrow it down to a part.

Thanks Joseph, I am not sure what you mean by AV. Can you
give me more details. Thanks.

Scott

Duh, Anti Virus, OK I will check, but I think it is a
hardware problem myself, the Harddrives in particular, but
I do not know how else to test the harddrives. I could
probably disable the Raid and turn it on later. Maybe I
will try that. Then I'll have to try regular IDE Drives.
