We're using 20 Dell X1 Laptops running Internet Explorer 6, WinXP SP1. I RIS
imaged them all myself. They have the latest device drivers. The laptops are
used for conference presentations by teachers. While logged in as Admins, we
have to teach how to edit webpages through a specific website's "Page Content
Editor" section in IE, but we receive a "param name="ActivateActiveXControls"
value="-1">" message in the graphics/text area. I've enabled ALL ActiveX
controls in Tools > Internet Options > Security Tab. I've checked that the
Java version is 'Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0, Update 6'. I've
verified that the login account was an Administrator. IE browser is the
latest at version 6; SP1. I ran the lastest Windows Updates. Restarted
laptop. End result; no success.
I've test that the Page Content Editor is viewable/works on older laptops
(D-Series) and home/office Desktop PCs with either WinXP SP1 or SP2
installed. They're all running IE6. I've contacted the website's designers
and they verified that it was not their website. Because I only get this on
all 20 X1 Laptops, it leads me to believe that I'm missing something in IE.
Can anyone please advise me on how to resolve this matter? Thanks in advance.
