I have a workstation that a user used to experiment on
how large they could display things. I have gotten the
desktop back to normal by going into Desktop - Properties
and removing large icons, large fonts under Settings
Advance. Adjusted the icon horizontal and vertical
spacing, selected Windows Standard and I forget what
else. But when IE6 is displayed, the contents on the page
are so large half the page doesn't display. I have gone
to View , Text Size and chose Smallest which displays
most the contents but still the formatting is all wrong
and the background graphics and colors don't display. I
have uninstalled IE6, rebooted and reinstalled and
nothing changes. Can someone tell me what the Registry
hack is or what I need to do?
Thank you,
Debra

Debra,
Right click your desktop and select PROPERTIES from the menu.
Then select the SETTINGS tab at the top and see what the SCREEN
AREA is. I think you will find it is 640 x 480 or smaller... If so,
move the slider to 800 x 600, (if you are running a larger monitor,
you can go to 1024 x 768 or even higher.. Hit APPLY and OK
and then REBOOT. Now you will probably find that your text is
off, but go back and change that to your liking.

Burt,
I'm sorry, I forgot to include that in my post. I did
change that. The user had it set to 1280X1024 and I set
it back to 1024X768. That didn't make a difference. Any
other suggestions ?

Thanks,
Debra

It almost sounds like the settings tab isn't working... Have you upgraded
your video drivers any time lately? I am not sure it would help, but it
is worth a shot.. Maybe somebody else will chime in here with more help.
Hmmm, I just got to thinking, have you tried a REPAIR on IE? That
also might fix it... Keep us posted.
Burt
