Hi

I am trying to run the Symantec Clean Up tool from this web address:
www.symantec.com/autotools

I can see this page fine. But when I hit the particular tool I want to
download/run (in my case the yellow box next to number 1) I get Page Cannot
Be Displayed. Usually by holding down the control key and overriding my popup
blockers I can get to these pages. It's not working for me this time. Can
anyone suggest what I should do?

Here's some extra info.
I have Windows XP
I've just uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2005 (I want to run the clean
up tool before I reinstall)
I have Webroot Spy sweeper
Adaware SE Professional
Windows Defender
Spyware Blaster v4

Is there something I need to do in Tools on IE to sort this out?

Help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks
JD

I am having problems with access to the Internet. I can ping my modem, I can
ping websites via the CMD window. I can receive and send email, but I cannot
browse using IE or any other browser. I have tried everything, including
system restore - no help. I have tried to post this as a new topic, but that
does not work either.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am about to bring out the big
hammer and make it all go away. Apparently, for no reason, IE just quit.

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
