Page cannot be displayed - within an active page

I get the message within active pages that seem to be ok.

"The page cannot be displayed "

"The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site
might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to
adjust your browser settings"

Usually it is an advertisement on the page - such as yahoo mail onening page.
My Norton AV is not running - my spyware is not running - I have shut off
the poopup stoppers and this continues.

Any ideas.

Thanx

Its happening to me on my girlfriends XP Box. MSN, Hotmail,
oreilly.com. The inline banners are showing the "the page cannot be
displayed" error. I've yet to run windowsupdate on the machine, but I
set the security on "internet" to "default"

I dont think thats going to do me any good because the zone in the
status bar says "Unknown Zone (mixed).

Also, watching the files load in the status bar, I see "Opening page
http://127.0.0.1/"

I know my machine dosent have the document the page needs.
TIA for any ideas.
