About every 20 minutes, a box pops up that says "Reminder
(then the day's date). Page cannot be displayed, etc."
It looks as though I tried to get to a site on the
internet but was unable to. But this box comes up
randomly even if I am not searching for anything. I
already tried changing my homepage, deleting files and
cookies, upgrading norton anti-virus, and downloading
adaware. How can I get rid of this? Its very annoying.
Thanks!

Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Delete all cookies
Delete all temporary internet files
(include all offline content)
Remove all Downloaded Program Files
To do that, you click on that "settings"
button and then click on the "View Objects"
button and then right click and choose remove
for all of them, if any, one at a time.
Close the Downloaded Program Files window,
Click OK to the Settings window.
Now clear History
Now click on the "Advanced" tab at the top
of Internet Options.
In the Browsing section, uncheck the box for
"Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)"
Click "Apply" and then "OK" at the bottom
of Internet Options
Close out of Control Panel
Restart the computer
Test the issue by browsing the Internet
Is this the version of Ad-Aware that you downloaded?
If so, did you update it before scanning?

You could also try Spybot:

What version of Norton Antivirus are you running?
Are you running a Firewall?
If not, you should be.
Do you have all Windows and MS Office critical updates installed?
Take a look in System Configuration Utility:
Start > Run > msconfig <Enter>
Hopefully this is in Normal Startup
Click on the Services tab and put a check in
"Hide all Microsoft services" at the bottom.
Anything suspicious in the non Microsoft services?
Click on the Startup tab.
Anything suspicious in the Startup group?
If so, leave System Configuration Utility in
Normal and see if you can uninstall the suspicious program.
Please post back with any results / findings.
