"Page cannot be displayed" message

T

tapout

Every since I upgraded my browser to IE 6.0, SP1, There
are certain websites that won't load up. I just get
the "page cannot be displayed" message. I had no problems
prior to the upgrade.

Also, on some pages, I receive an "Action cancelled"
message or gray blocks for images that should load up -
either advertisements or pictures. Is it something in my
browser settings?

None of these problems were occurring prior to upgrade
from IE 5.5.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1. Which version of Windows?

2. Have you uninstalled IE 6 SP1? If yes, did that fix
the problem? If no, consider doing so, then reporting
back.

3. When you upgraded to IE 6 SP1, did you temporarily
disable your antivirus software?

4. When you try to go to site www.something.xxx , do you
receive "page cannot be displayed" every time, or just
sometimes?

5. Do you use AOL? If so, are parental controls enabled?

6. Can you connect to "regular sites", but not to secure
sites [ https://something.xxx ].
