Ian

I am using Win. XP Pro, IE6, Outlook Express, and Trend
Micro Internet Security. I am up to date on Windows
Update, and using a ADSL connection.
Just a few weeks ago I started getting "Page can not be
displayed" when I connect to the internet by clicking a
desk top shortcut.
This does not happen all the time and I can get to the web
page by clicking "Refresh" button.
Again, this does not happen all the time. My ISP says they
are not having problems.
I can not see any pattern to it, and also is there a
timeout setting somewhere for page downloads?
Any suggestions?

Thank You (in Advance)
Ian

I have a similar problem!! After boot, for several hours IE6 works fine.
Then, for no apparent reason, the browser can't find pages accessed through
links on my home page. Shortly thereafter, the homepage cannot be
refreshed. Soft or hard reboot, problem disappears. Could it be a
memory/cache problem? I haven't knowingly changed any settings on my system
in months of trouble free operation (except to install MS updates, as they
become available....

I am having the same problem, but I cannot access any
pages at all; even when I 'refresh' I get the 'page cannot
be displayed' messge.
