Page banner on a page that is not on navigation

For years I have been able to convert page banners to a .gif for use in
pop-up pages that are not a part of the navigation structure. Since it has
been a year or so, I can't remember how to make it a .gif.

Never mind. I remembered that I must publish and then open the page, save
the banner as a .gif. Then insert picture.
