When trying to discover what your computer is doing or is being done to it,
nothing is as good as a packet analyzer. If anyone wants to try my lastest
creation, it is available at:

http://www.yellowhead.com/packetvb.htm

The packet driver (packet.dll) works on any Microsoft OS, but unfortunately the
interface library only works on NT/2000/XP.

I think I'll stick with Ethereal thank you.

I see you don't like spam, but you don't mind spamming UseNet !

That isn't what I meant and you know it. You haven't answered my
question. If it's freeware being advertised it's not spamming.

Of course you are right! Making a utility program available to news group users
free of charge with no strings attached would hardly qualify as Spam. Mr Lipman
must have got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

I agree. If it's free (as in beer) and a suggestion for something useful and
pretty much on-topic for this group, then it can't really be spam. :)

actually, if there's no communication component to whatever may be
happening to one's PC, a packet analyzer will be entirely useless...

a packet analyzer is a tool, it addresses a discrete set of problems,
it is not a panacea...

and while your work may be the greatest thing since sliced bread,
you'll find humility works wonders here...
