Since installing XP SP2 my scanner refuses to work. It is
recognised in the Device directory but when accessed
through My Computer I am informed that it is not
connected. I presume this is to do with the new Windows
Firewall. Does anyone know how I correct the problem?

the same thing as happen to me,when i installed XP SP2 if
you found a way to make the scanner work please let me
know i have got the same scanner

I have the same problem. I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled
it but no good. I downloaded an updated driver from Mustek
but it made no difference. The scanner is said to be working
properly when I check it with device manager and also is shown
in the scanners and cameras folder. When I try to view it's
properties however, I am told they are not available.
When I try to use the scanner, Windows says it is not connected.
When I plug it in or unplug it from the USB port I get the correct
sounds.
I can't see what else to do please help!

I've got it working!
I was accessing it through the windows scanner
wizard which says the device is unplugged.
If you use the Diamond Bell Panel (panel.exe)
it works.
Find it in : START, PROGRAMS, PACKARD BELL
DIAMOND 1200 PLUS, PANEL, then right click
and create a shortcut for your desktop.
When I double click on this it works fine.
Let me know how you get on. Bye.
