Hi - I had used the Package for CD function successfully
in the past. When the CD was inserted, the show started
automatically, and when the Escape key was hit, the show
stopped. All fine and good.

Now, when I use the Package for CD function and the show
stops, a pop-up window appears giving the viewer the
ability to replay the slide show. Help. I do not want
that pop-up window to appear, and I don't know why it is
showing up now.

When I use the Package for CD function, I go into the
Options function and always select the "play only the
first presentation". I also always keep the first option
checked, so that the Viewer is always included.

How do I get rid of that pop-up window (PPT Viewer) after
the slide show ends? And how come I did not get it a
month ago, and now I do?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi - I used PPT 2003 to create the CDs, and I'm assuming
PPT 2003 to view them. I did not have the viewer
installed on my PC prior to installing PPT 2003.

What version of PPT are you using, and which version of the PPT Viewer are you using?

Ok, thanks for confirming.

The difference is the setting for "play only the first presentation." See, if you look closely at it, you'll see that that option is actually for "play only the first presentation automatically." That's why it goes back to the Viewer selection window when the presentation is finished. It's that "automatically" part...

If you choose "Play all presentations automatically in the specified order," the presentation closes as you'd expect, and no selection window pops up.

You can also see the difference in this by looking at the play.bat file that Package for CD creates. Open Notepad and then open the play.bat files:

@pptview.exe /D /L "playlist.txt" (play only first)

vs

@pptview.exe /L "playlist.txt" (play all)

The /D tells the Viewer to show the Open window after the slide show. More on command lines and the Viewer at http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/powerpoint_2003_viewer.htm

*clap clap* That did the trick! Thanks.

Also, thanks for the eyedropper tip from the previous
thread. Great tool. :-)
