P5P800/ 1000rpm? on new CPU Fan

Does it seem odd that the P5P800 is running a 3.0Ghz CPU fan at 1000rpm at
startup(14-1500 rpm after installation of xp).
I have to set the Fan to Ignore in hardware monitor; otherwise, it gives a
low fan speed warning on post.

I updated the bios from 1005 to 1007. I'm going to try 1010 ( i think it's
beta)

More info.
Updated the p5p800 to 1010 beta
First boot, 1600 rpm, no low speed warning.
Second boot, 1100 rpm, low cpu fan speed warning.

No reason for that. The motherboard and cpu went an hour without running.
Maybe it's doing it's best to be cool and quiet, but first boot it should
have been lower in that case.

I've put on a heatsink/fan from a celeron 3.0ghz that i have lying around,
2500rpm.

The original fan that is reving so low(intel c91968-002?), goes at 2500 on
an intel motherboard.
Took to rma, they say 'just set the fan speed warning to ignore'.
Big help :)

So just what is the CPU temperature with the fan running
at that speed? Perhaps something not to worry about and,
BTW, it might be possible to lower the fan speed warning
threshold to a lower speed.

The temperature gets to around 60C for the cpu. It appears the fan speed
does get up to about 1600rpm, but it's hard to say for certain as it is
either around 1000rpm or 1600rpm.
The time above(first boot, second boot), the temp should have been around
43C

At that temperature of 60 deg C, there is a problem, at least
a potential one. First, do a little maintenance and check that
there is no dust, debris or lint clogging the radiator fins of
the heatsink and the fan shroud. The airflow should be blowing
into the heatsink fins. If the fan speed goes slower or the CPU
temperature goes up, then the fan unit should be replaced. An
Intel retail CPU fan should be running around 2,000-2,500 RPM,
in the first place.
