Hey Guys,

How can I go about repairing this P5ND2 in my system? Is there a service in London that'll take a look at it? Otherwise, what should I replace it with, or should I just go for another of the same?

Any help much appreciated...

Not really, I came home one day and nothing would turn on. I think it was actually off (not at the plug) - so maybe a power surge busted a capacitor.

I've checked the PSU so it's definitely the mobo....

A cheap repair service in London would be perfect.

Thanks for any help.

Okay, so I'm just gonna buy a new mobo.

What should I replace this with?....seeing as I can't buy a P5ND2 now from OCUK or ebuyer.

it depends mate, sorry you didn't get much help on finding a place in London,

I have looked at the spec of your current board but can you tell me what processor and memory (the speed) you have please, as its possible to get a slightly better motherboard.

Although there are still versions of this board on other sites still.

I've got a P4 630, will get back to you with the memory....it's 3 Gb of standard stuff.

Where have you found a P5ND2-Sli Deluxe on sale? I can't find one online anywhere.

I appreciate this help dude.

Okay so I found a reconditioned P5ND2-SLI deluxe at tekcomputersuk.com. It's 1066FSB but the P4 630 is 800FSB, does this difference matter?

I'll probably go for that unless there's some great mobo out there I can use instead.

This is my memory (or at least 1Gb of it) - Corsair 1GB DDR Value Select PC3200 CAS3.0 Kit (2x512MB).

1066 will be the max FSB, 533 is normally the lowest supported on any Socket 775 Motherboard.

They were on ebay and one was on Kikatek but its since gone.

Had a look at Tekcomputers its not the deluxe version you have but will do you fine.

Can't find any newer boards that support your memory (400mhz)

IF you can afford it why not get 2GB of 800Mhz (6400) and a newer board?

I know it's been a while but i didn't realise my memory's now defunct! Damn it! I'm going to look into getting it repaired but any suggestions for the memory + mobo upgrade?

P4 630
XFX Geforce 6600GT PCI-E 128mb DDR3 TV+Dual DVI *Extreme PVT43GNDD7

thanks for the help again.

Hiya mate,

Got all this on aria £130

Processor is AMD but its a massive performance increase for you for pretty cheap i would say.

Motherboard is a good one, so is the RAM.

If you want to stay Intel and upgrade your processor at a later date, then this board is very good, will support your current processor and all other socket 775.

Has PCI-E 2.0 if you get a new graphics at any point.

Thanks dude!

The AMD option looks good, I suppose it's time for an upgrade anyway.

What performance increase are you looking at going from a 630 P4 to a 2.8 dual core? (Seeing as it's not actually 2 physical cores)

I hope PCI-E 2 doesn't become standard too soon!

Thanks again.
