Hi.

I have a big problem with this mainboard's sound CMI 9880 codec. Everything
works fine except the audio sensing technology. In simple words there is no
sound after reboot (Win XP Prof SP2)
until I reinsert the jack plug of the speaker-set to the rear panel. The
system returns to the default 'none/deaf' mode and I have to reinsert
jack-plug again to manually set the purpose of the jack-socket (green rear)
at the XEAR 3D panel.
This is really annoying thing because the guy that works with that computer
is really computer-rookie and calls me every time he has a problem. It can
be solved with three clicks of the mouse each time, but he can barely hold
it and gets annoyed also.
Please help. Now I'm away that computer so I can experiment next week with
it.
Did anyone have similar problems with it ? What to do ?

Have you tried downloading the latest driver from the Asus
download site ? The CMI9880-5120100085161 has helped some
people.
