Read your motherboard handbook very carefully and make sure all your BIOS
and motherboard settings are correct.

my book is in english and i don't understand very well english , i'm
french :/

perhaps boot without mouse
shut down
re connect mouse
re boot with mouse an perhaps re load usb drivers ??

If you're using XP you'll need the intel chipset driver and xp service pack
2 for usb to function correctly. On a new install I install the service pack
first, do all ms updates and then install the chipset driver - working fine
here on P5AD2-E premium.

i've installed xp pro sp2 first (without ms update coz no net
connection on this computer)
intel chip driver of CD of asus installed

not working with p5ad2 (not e ) premium

settings in bios ??
what the s1 or s3 mode in bios ?

Had the same problem with a 7 in 1 floppy as the usb is connected in the
case. do all the upgrades, sp2 inc and remove the usb device from the plug
or the M/B then delete all the USB in device manager then reboot a couple of
times with the USB item disconnected. When it reboots the USB version
numbers are sorted out. One more reboot (for luck) and then reconnect the
USB item - and it all works - it did for me ;-)
