I have installed a P4S8X motherboard and 2.4Gh P4. After I got it up and
running with Win XP Pro I noticed that every time I went to use the floppy,
the system would hang. I felt the bios were configured properly so I have
just replaced the floppy drive. Now the device manager says the drive is
working okay but when I put in a floppy disk and select it the system says
to put a disk in the drive. It's recognizing the drive but not the fact
that I have a disk in it. Any ideas?

I have installed successfully one P4S8X on windows 2000. the floppy works
fine. check that you have updated the bios to version 1003

modify BIOS so that the bios will halt on "all errors". so you will see that
probably, the cable of your floppy is not correctly pluged.
