I currrently have a pc with a Asus P4S800 and a western digital 160gb 2mb
cache hard drive on the secondary slave.

The problem is when i boot it up it says its only 33gb, i have tried also
defining the size manually and then it picks it up as 133gb, windows sees
the same size as the bios, also this drive is not bootable and there are
files on it from my previous computer. When i click to open it, windows
says it needs to be formatted, but there files on it, its in ntfs.

I have tried changing the jumper settings also on the hd

I have windows xp and sp1 installed

Any ideas anyone....

Thanks

Mark

There are several possibilities, did you use a drive overlay to set up the
drive in the other computer, that can create a third party translation
error.
Another thing, never slave a hard drive to a slower drive(cd-rom) with
windows xp.
