I just received a box full with the P4PE-x boards. I saw that the board now
support 800mhz fsb HT processors and ddr400 memory.

I always thought that the i865 chipset was the first chipset that supported
800mhz fsb and ddr400 momery.

Does anyone has any experience with the combination 800mhz fsb proc. -
ddr400 mem. - p4pe-x board?

Thanks,

Yeah- check my response to David's P4P800 question a few posts before and
see if that will help.

Okay, but I now abt the memory issues. I just wondering if the combination
P4 HT 800MHz fsb - DDR400 mem (any brand) - P4PE-X works good?

Again, I never heard about a 845PE chipset work with a 800mhz fsb proc and
ddr400 memory..

Actually, I never did either- but did hear that the chipset was gonna be
tweaked for notebook use, so maybe that's what you have. As the other 845
boards don't have the 800 setting, guess asus has been tweaking the bios. At
leasdt you won't have to worry about dual channel sets, though.

By the look of the approved memory for this board from the Asus site, the
crucial pc3200 works, as well as modules based on the samsung TCC4 chip.
Wonder if they've tested it against Winbond CH's yet? But to be on the safe
side go with Crucial. It's real cheap and so far exceeds the performance of
the Samsung TCC's.

Since this MB is new, looks like you're gonna be the Pathfinder.

Good luck.

I saw the bios has to be upgraded to 1005 (for p4 2,4c proc.) . Don't try it
throu the alt-F2 function in post screen! I almost had to get a new bios
because this feature doesn't work. Just use a bootable flop.
