Dear people,

I've got an asus motherboard type p4pe.
According to the specs that Asus has on it's site it should be compatible
with a celeron d330 2.66 ghz 533fsb 478 pin 256kb cache
I found out after fitting the processor that this was not true because the
motherboard should go up to 533fsb but still does not accept the processor.
At the shop where i bought it, they told me that i have to trick the
motherboard and it's bios into accepting the processor as it is.
Can anyone please tell me how to do this.
I would be most greatfull.

tnx.

Hi,

Where did you find the info showing specifically that a Celeron D is
supported?

The supported CPU document that I found for the P4PE motherboard at the ASUS
website, :-

http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P4PE ,

does not show Celeron D processors as being supported. They are not even
shown in the list.

Cheers,

John S.
