Hi,

I have a P4PE with a Celeron 2.0 overclocked to 2.67. I have a 350
watt Aopen power supply and 512 mb of Crucial PC2700. The core
voltage should be 1.525 but according to Asus Probe it fluctuates
between 1.5 and 1.68. This seems like way too much fluctuation. I
have the core voltage set to auto on the P4PE. Is this caused by a
bad PSU or mb or is this normal? The system so far is very solid.

Thank you very much in advance.

According to "Homey", the guy who repairs motherboards over
in the Abit group, he sees the monitoring chip values wandering
all over the place, yet when he connects his voltmeter to Vcore,
it is very stable. So, a small amount of fluctuation is normal
and is due to the quality of the monitoring chip. Like our
friend Homey, the only way to know for sure, is to use a meter
that has better accuracy than the motherboard device.

If you see low values on your 3.3V/5V/12V, that would mean the power
supply is weak, but the Vcore is mainly a function of the motherboard
regulator circuit.

I just installed a P4PE two days ago. Mother Board Monitor show mine
will run from 1.52 to 1.64. My PS is an Antec TruePower 380 4 months old. It
should be good. Most likely the reporting hardware. I've seen other boards
and PS's that worked fine but the voltages reported were shown way out of
tolerance at times.
