Hi,

I have a P4PE main board and I'm using two double-sided 512Mb DDR333. The
problem is that, if I use only one DDR on bank 1 everything works fine. If I
install the second DDR on bank 2 the windows XP becomes very unstable. I
tried these memory modules in other computers but with different main boards
at it works fine. Does anyone know about any compatibility problems with
this board? I'm already using the latest bios version.

Thanks for all the help.

I'm having exactly the same problem with two sticks of 256Mb DDR333 KingMax
branded memory.

If I use both sticks the PC randomly crashes (WinXP) using only one stick
i'ts rock solid.
I've also tried one stick of un-branded 512Mb DDR333 and the machine returns
to an unstable state.

In both cases the memory works great on other mainboards leaving me to
conclude that this board is very picky as to the make of memory.

Has anyone got a stable machine using any of the above memory
configurations, an if so which brand of memory is installed?

TIA

Hi,

See this post for help: 'I also had problems with 2 double sided 512meg
sticks in the P4PE. I found
that 1 double sided in bank-0 and a single in bank-1 and/or bank-2 worked
just fine.'

Asus told me that it might be a bios problem and that I should install the
latest version, which I did, but solved nothing.

I have two sticks of 512MB Corsair XMS2700, which is DDR333 and double-
sided. No problems.
