I have a headphone and mic jack at the front of my case. I have no idea
where to connect it too. The wire splits into 5 connecters that are 1 pin
each. They are labeled, L EAR, R EAR, MIC DATA, GROUND, MIC GROUND.
Anyway I connected all those plugs to SMB1 (what it's called in my manual).
I think I made some progress because now I can hear the headphones give some
static when I put them in. But in which order to put these things in, I
have no idea. I don't know what the case is called, maybe there is a
website? At the front there is also a USB plug as well, but I don't need to
worry about that cause I have no usb devices.

P.S. Why are there 2 newsgroup for asus?

After doing some googleing I found out I have to plug them into FP_AUDIO1.
But I'm unsure of what goes to what.
My best guess:
MIC2 = MIC DATA
Line out_R = L EAR
Line out_L = R EAR
AGND = GROUND
Where does MIC GROUND plug into?
What is +5VA and the BLINE_OUT for?

Sorry forgot one more thing. There are also plugs for MICPWR and NC. What
is NC stand for?

Original spec for FPAUDIO header:
http://www.formfactors.org/developer/fpio_design_guideline.pdf (pg.19)

Connections for P4PE - To pick up an extra GROUND connection, use
one of the two center pins of the AUX1 1x4 connector.

FP_AUDIO1

MIC_DATA <------> MIC2 AGND <------> MIC GROUND
MICPWR +5VA
R_EAR <---> Line out_R BLINE_OUT_R
NC
L_EAR <---> Line out_L BLINE_OUT_L

AUX1 (white plastic 1x4 connector)

Left
GROUND <------------> GND
GND
Right

The function of the other FP_AUDIO1 pins -

MICPWR - A source of +5V with a 1K ohm limiting resistor. Used
by electret microphones, to power their internal amplifier.
+5VA - A source of +5V with no current limiting resistor.
Do not accidently short to ground or there will be smoke or fire!
BLINE_OUT_R,
BLINE_OUT_L - These signals drive the rear audio (Lime) connector.
The jumpers on these pins, when FPAUDIO is not being used,
allow the sound chip to drive the rear audio out. When
the jumpers are removed, there is no path to the audio on
the back of the case. A case equipped with an "Intel" audio
solution will have return_signals, so that when the
microphone is unplugged, the audio will again be on the
Lime colored connector on the back of the case. Since your
case has only L_EAR and R_EAR, this is where your audio
output will be from now on. Your case is not "Intel"
audio compatible.
NC - No connection. Do not connect anything to this pin.

Hope that helps,
Paul
