Hello,

I have flashed the new (P4P81014) BIOS on my P4P800-D.
In BIOS, I see
Version 08.00.09
Build Date 12/12/03
ID P4P81092

However, it still beeps, at boot, twice for my two USB devices.

I thought one of the fixes was stopping the USB beeps.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Navid

Is that your 'earlier' BIOS version?

Did you set the BIOS values to 'default' before _and_ after flashing?

Roy,
That is what is in the BIOS now.
I did not set the BIOS to defaults before and after.
Why is that necessary? Isn't flashing the BIOS overwriting what is in the
CMOS chip? What difference does it make what setting there are in the
BIOS (default or not)?
I am just curious. Is there any reading you can refer me to get more info
on this default setting requirement for flashing BIOS?
Thanks for your attention,
Navid

Roy,
I set the new BIOS to defaults and the beeps are gone.
Thanks for the tip.
It makes absolute sense. After they add a new setting to
the BIOS, it needs to be initialized. Setting everything to defaults
is the best way of initializing everything, new and old.

Thanks again,
Navid

Hi, Navid:
Congratulations! You flashed successfully _and_ answered your own
question!
