The line out (green socket) has failed. Any recommendations
for a replacement sound card, such as Turtle Beach Catalina?
Or a substitute line out arrangement, including building a
connection through the front panel audio connector header?

Are the two jumpers on the FPAUDIO header ? Or are you using a
front panel audio arrangement of some sort ? Disconnect the
front panel gadget, put the two jumpers back, then retest the
green lineout jack.

The two jumpers provide continuity for the audio signals. If
the jumpers are missing (or the front panel audio doesn't
make those connections), then the green audio output will
look like it has failed.

Soundblaster Audigy is a fine sound card. Much better than the onboard one.

You could probably get a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard on eBay for
$25. It may not be as good a gamers card like the Creative ones, but
it's great for music and hooking up to the surround system.

Thanks. That was it. Forgot to replace the jumpers after
swapping the motherboard from a tower to a full tower case
without front panel audio connectors.
