Putting together a new system. Just purchased a P4P800 board. Any
recommendations as to best memory for this board or ones to avoid would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks

I picked up a DDR400 Kingmax pair (sold as a package) and it's working great
at DDR440.

I'm using OCZ pc3200EL (2x256). As I'm overclocking a 2.6C (FSB-260) using
the 5:4 divider the memory is stable at 2-3-3-6. And as 260 is the limit of
my CPU I'm glad I didn't spring for higher rated RAM as it would be wasted
(will also be wasted if you're not overclocking).

So I would be better off getting a pair of 256's instead of spending the
extra bucks on a pair of 512's?

Tom- I was talking about the speed (pc3200 vs 3500, 3700, etc), not the size
(512 vs 1gig). Personally I don't do any video editing so more than 512 for
me is wasted. Usually I'm only utilizing half of what I have now.

Can't speak for you however.

Have never had a problem with Crucial (Micron).

I'm running two sticks of Kingston PC3500 memory (2 256MB sticks) in
Dual Channel mode and no problems here either.
