OK, after tearing my hair out for the last time over my A7V600, I've
decided to grab a P4P800 and finally go P4.

With the VIA boards, they have an explicit order you should install
windows, chipset drivers, video drivers, directx, etc. Is there such
instructions for these systems as well, or are things a little more lax?

Sigh. Oh to finally have stability.

Reinstalled mine for the fun of it. Install XP first then the MB
drivers. I guess you could say the drivers need a place to go.

Following that install the video card drivers.

Perfect! Now I just wish people would try and talk me out of spending
all the money to go P4...
