I recently put together a system using this motherboard but in spite of
everything I do when I restart W2K from the shutdown box my system does not
boot into Windows there is a black screen. It does not do this on a cold boot
nor does it happen all the time when I have to restart my computer after a
driver or program install. This is frustrating, any suggestions. I am currently
using BIOS 1008. I pumped up the BIOS to 1008 from 1005 however this probelm
existed before the BIOS update. Thanks in advance.

I had the exact same situation as you did with my P4P800 Deluxe,
except with Windows XP using a couple of conventional IDE drives (not
SATA) connected to the primary IDE controller and two optical drives
on the secondary IDE controller.

For some reason the BIOS thought that my hard drives were attached to
another IDE controller!

After manually refreshing the BIOS IDE settings for both the primary
and secondary IDE controllers, they self-corrected.

Both Cold and warm boots are now working OK.

Good Luck!
