P4P800 Deluxe RAM question

Looking into getting the P4P800-Deluxe mobo with a 2.8GHz 800FSB Intel
P4. I have a RAM question:

Board spec supports RAM up to 4 GB.
However, the qualified vendor list has the largest DIMM at 512K. With 4
memory slots, that only gives 2 GB, right?

I must be missing something here. Can someone please explain? Also,
what RAM would you recommend?

Not sure if the P4P800 is like the P4C800, I can have 4GB of RAM, but only a
max of 2GB of Dual-Channel DDR (4x512)
 
Also, be careful the ram you get. This board has apparently a
track record of being picky. Hyundai(sp?) worked for us on the
board we got, but the Infineon we sold seemed to come up with
problems with this board (from our vendors comments, they echo
this sentiment).

Not bashing infineon, just that you might be safer with kinsgton
or something.

use 2X512MB mathched Kingston PC3500 HyperX
Pat fully enabled MAM Standard 2/3/2/2/5
Also overclockable. Ive done the lot with them.
