Figure out which one you have in the first place; you can use the included
Asus Update utility to find out. I would not feel compelled to update
beyond 1010 unless I had a need to based upon exactly what they have
improved in the interim
any problems with any?

Every time you flash the bios you are taking a chance of ending up with a
dead bios chip. The chance of that happening is not huge, but it can
happen, and you can end up with all sorts of problems even if the bios flash
"takes." I don't know that there is any particular bios that has more
problems than others. A lot of people had problems flashing over to 1014;
whether that has any relationship to the bios itself or rather just that
there were a lot of people doing that flash recently, I don't know. I had
problems with that flash to 1014 which were resolved by shorting the CMOS
jumpers, but really you don't want to have to do that if the newer bios
don't offer you anything you actually need.
is it worth doing?

depends on which hardware you have and what you want to accomplish. Read
the descriptions on the Asus site to determine if they are offering you
anything new that you need.

all are USB 2.0 but 2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.1 devices.

IMHO P4P800 seems to be sensitive with any BIOS upgrade, no matter the
version you'll choose...

AFAIAC I'll had trouble with BIOS version 1008, at contrary I did flash the
last upgrade 1014 without any problem using a diskette boot with DOS
commands such as "a:\AFUDOS.EXE /iP4P81014.AMI /pbnc" (only new AFUDOS.EXE
must be use).

I may have done things wrong when previously had trouble flashing BIOS
version 1008... in fact, as I did forget to reset the BIOS default...
nevertheless the trouble was much more important than that small mistake;
the P4P800 mobo did not want to start anymore... my chance was to have the
possibility to make an "hot" rescue with my second P4P800 mobo ... I'll
agree with Ken comments when he said "Every time you flash the bios you are
taking a chance of ending up with a
dead bios chip." on one hand "The chance of that happening is not huge", on
the second hand you've got lots of possibilities to get out of that trouble
when it happens, but it's still a good thing to be aware such trouble might
happen.

If you are not sure to flash or not your BIOS, one could says not to do it,
or to do it with the help of one of your friend. Normaly your mobo should be
more up-to-date with last BIOS than with the previous ones...

only the last one says version 2?

.... It only shows the status, not what USB version it supports. As Ken said,
P4P800 support both HighSpeed USB2 and FullSpeed USB1.10 as far as the
HiSpeed is selected in the BIOS (Advanced\USB Configuration\USB 2.0
Controller Mode...

.... see also the W2k/XP Info System (available from the Control Panel and/or
any MS-Office apps in \help\about...\info system...\components\USB). each
USB Controler has got some text information about mobo USB support versions:

1) ...SUBSYS_ xxxxREV_02 ... is mentionned for USB2

2) ...SUBSYS_ xxxxREV_01 ... is mentionned for USB1.10
