Hi
Brand new machine -- Bios does not detect the two SATA drives --
Sees the the four ide optical drives fine. -- have tried the alternative
sata settings under ide configuration in the bios -- still no detection
-- have tried ctrl + l to try to get to the ich5r bios but can never
get to it during POST <-- I'm not sure that I am doing this correctly.
Any Ideas??
Thanks
Tom

I don't see this cntl-i option either. I think there are a batch of
motherboards with bad controllers. Asus should fess up if thats the case.

You have to enable the Onchip SATA raid controller,if you want to make it your
bootable drive with OS you need to set the third boot device as SCSI. Hit F6
at OS install and load the raid drivrer from a floppy. You need to do this
whether you intend to use raid or not use raid.
