P4P800 COM Devices

Another problem driving me nuts.

I'm trying to use the COM port on my board, but every time I try to use
Hyperterm whether or not I have anything plugged into it, I get "Another
program is using the selected Telephony device."

....all I'd like to do is use the console port on my 3Com Switch!

Do you have any FAX software installed ? Maybe it is clever and is
waiting to auto-answer what it thinks is a modem...

Just a guess,
