Abyone else having a hard time moving devices, hard drives in particular
around and having the BIOS find them?

I find that every single time I change things, the Asus BIOS gets lost
and it requires all kinds of fiddling to get things to work right.

I have the latest BIOS but this has always been the case.

Move a drive from IDE1 to IDE2 and the system can't find it.
Reset to defaults 5 times and finally it finds it.

Well I think the latest version of the P4P800 (non deluxe BIOS (dont know
about the deluxe)
(1016) is totally screwed! It's buggy. At the mo
I'm using a TV tuner, and soon after I flashed
to 1016, the system kept on rebooting by itself
(in XP). Even tho, I've unticked automatically restart.

So, today I reverted back to 1015 of this BIOS.

To see if the rebooting will stop. And also removed the tuner, to see if
that and the BIOS were the cause of the
rebooting. I'm pretty sure 1016 of this BIOS is totally
stuffed, or buggy as hell. You shouldnt have to
move things around. BUT soon after you do a flash
you should go back into the BIOS and reset to default
settings. And reset whatever needs to be configured,
then save the settings. I would also check the drives
to make sure theyre on slave/master and the power plugs are in properly. And
the data cables are right in.
