P4P800 and E - Ghz Processor???

Will my P4P800 take the 3.0E Ghz 800Mhz FSB, w/1mb of L2 Cache?????

Yes it does, but I would recommend to buy a .13u Northwood 3 Ghz
processor (the one with 512k of L2 cache). It is cheaper, less power
consuming and for some applications even faster than the Prescott chip
at same clock speed. Normally when Intel changes CPU generations the new
chip is slower at the same clock speed, due to longer pipe stages and
other architectural improvements introduced in order to boost the clock
speed in the future.

I run a P4P800 Dlx with a 3 GHz Prescott chip and P4P800 Dlx with a 2.8
MHz Northwood chip and the performance differences are hardly
noticeable, the advantage being that the Nortwood machine runs much
cooler and should thus be much more reliable.
 
Are you aware that this Prescott cpu runs really hot and in some
applications is actually slower than the northwood?

Thats why they are being sold cheap!
