I have just installed 4GB (4 x 1GB) of mem on my P4P800 Mobo

I was expecting to 4096Mb on board. But only see 3241Mb....Is this right

I am using WIN XP Pro SP1, can any help to tell me what my pagefile settings
should be.

Thx

This has been reported before. It has something to do with PCI address
space and AGP aperture, coming out of the 32 bit address space. While
I've read of some server chips that can "move" this address space out of
the way, the desktop 875/865 chipset doesn't look like one of them.

From the manual:

"6. When all four sockets are populated with 1GB DIMMs (total 4GB),
the system may detect only 3+GB (a little less than 4GB) due to
ICH5R resource allocation."

Since the people observing this, haven't posted back whether any settings
affect the results, you'll have to experiment with disabling things,
to see if the number can be improved.

As per Paul's comments.

Try disabling everything you are not using EG net, sound, firewire, etc.
Raid controllers, seconday IDE port etc.
If you use a basic AGP card (say in 2d only) then try a lower AGP Aperture.

*Please* post back if you find a way to improve this.
