P4P 800 Deluxe & RAM recommendation

I'm running Win XP Pro. I use Photoshop occasionally, and plan to do
video editing eventually. Not a gamer. Plan to run in dual channel
mode.

Will 512 Mb be sufficient or will 1 Gb provide a noticeable speed
improvement.

How fussy are the P4P 800 boards with regard to RAM manufacturer /
quality.

Realizing that flaky RAM is no bargain, what's the most economical RAM
(manufacturer / speed ) to get for the system?

TIA

512 is sufficient until you use photoshop or its like often...then 1gb
of ram will take less time (work in ram and no HDD swapping).

Not too fussy...but quality of ram is important (some name brand)
as well as being a matched pair (same specs and model #).

Probably Hynix D43 AA (cl 3-4-4-8, but mine runs 2.5-3-3-6 error free).
Crucial is ok and so is Corsair (bit more)... DDR400 (PC3200).

Best speed for that mainboard is with newer 1007 or 1008 BIOS
and set performance to "standard" (mam not necessary then).
