There's a bewildering assortment of new technology since I built my
last system, and the current computer is spontaneously rebooting, so
it's time for a new build - fast. I don't have weeks to do the
reading I've done in the past, so I need you guys as a quick
reference.

I mostly do email and office app, but plan to do video capture and
editing of the old VHS tapes. No gaming. Running Win XP pro.

Where is the price / performance sweet spot for Pentium 4 / Celeron
CPUs these days?

Any advantage to getting a CPU with hyperthreading
(do any of the Celerons do HT?)

TIA

As your board (same as mine) has an 800 FSB. Go for a P4c, (eg, P4. 2.4c
runs on 800 fsb) making full use of your mobo.
Supports hypertheading etc.
