Hi,
I think my fireware connection (behind) is disabled. I have just gone
into the moderboard BIOS but I have not see the possibility to
activate the fireware connection. I don't see the right screen.
Where is it, please?
thanks

bye Fogar

Look under Advanced >> Onboard Devices Configuration.

Yes, I have just gone there and I have noticed Onboard IEEE 1394
Controller is enabled. I hope this is the right reference.
But the firewire motherboard connection doesn't work yet.
Thanks

Have 3 P4C800ED's in the immediate area. Each one needs to
have the Firewire device powered on when the computer is
booted or re-started. For hot-swapping, USB seems to be more
consistent.

Therefore I cannot use that connection or is there a solution?
thanks

Do a little testing. IMO, Firewire, in IBM-PC compatibles, do
not seem as reliable when compared to its use in Macintoshes.
But, OTOH, the Macintoshes have similar issues with USB.

I noticed when I upgraded to XP SP2 my onboard FW no longer worked. Recent
HD crash due to rough shipping caused me to replace HD and load XP SP fresh.
Now all works well.
