I just bought a P4C800, upgrading my system
I see the P4P800 is new on the Asus site as of the last day or so...
Based on the Intel 848P chipset?
what's the difference in these boards? I see the P4P800 supports
faster ram i think..
anything else?

No, P4P800 is quite old and based on i865p chipset. This is a cheaper
chipset missing PAT.

By the start of p4p800 production it was possible to get PAT by a
hidden bios setting (turbo mode in ram settings). CPU-Z program
detects and claims PAT.

But this cheating should not be possible with newer productions.

P4P800 de luxe is new and should use i848p chipset

but asus site does not say so, yet.

Be careful with the product names. P4P800S uses 848P, is single
channel, and is a "value" board. P4P800 uses 865PE. The idea of
changing the Northbridge and yet keeping the same motherboard
model number would be a "deceptive trade practice".

Why not look here to get your information and model numbers:
