Hello .. I have just bought the P4C800 motherboard and have noticed that on
the specifications for SATA RAID, asus say "Supported WinXP only".

Is anyone able to shed any light onto what this may mean? I am planning on
buying a pair of Seagate sata drives and then using Norton Ghost to make an
exact copy of my current Western Digital drive and all four of its
partitions ... of course, if the RAIDed drives do not work in DOS then Ghost
will not work and I will be stuck!

Any help is appreciated,
Chris

I could never get ghost to recognize the SATA
controller on my P4C800 Deluxe MB.
I'm using Acronis True Image now.

Cheers ... but what do you mean?

If ghost is ok then which operating systems wont work?

Just found this info on Norton Ghost site. Apparrently it does not support
software or hardware Raid. I use Drive Image with my Raid setups and XP.

Ghost and RAID
Ghost is not compatible with computers that use RAID. That is, Symantec
Ghost 8.0 and earlier, and Norton Ghost 2003 and earlier, do not support
RAID controllers on computers that are being imaged. In addition:
a.. Ghost does not work with software level RAID.
b.. Although Ghost might work in some limited circumstances with hardware
level RAID, Symantec does not support using Ghost for cloning hardware level
RAID drives.
c.. Ghost does support cloning drives that have had RAID removed, such as
after you break a mirrored set.

right .. thank you for your help. I will buy Drive Image 7 seen as that can
back up while still in windows!
