cpu p4 3.0e
mobo asus p4c800-e deluxe
mem corsair 512x2
video nvidia leadtek 6800 128mb ddr

these are the new parts used to fix my poor old computer!
Now, I have two HD, two drives...
WD40BB and WD80JB

I am wondering is it faster if I install two HD on seperate channel?!?!
I had Abit VP6 for my old PIII 1Ghz, with total of four IDE channels...
I tried to put two HD on one channel and seperate, I felt seperate
the HD on different channel accelerated the HD to HD ransfer.....
Can someone tell me about it?!

Now, both drives I have are ATA100, WD40BB, WD80JB.....
With the P4C800-E Deluxe,
I tried the connection shows below:
Pri-IDE master WD40BB
Pri-IDE slave NONE
Sec-IDE master DVD
Sec-IDE slave CDRW
3rd ~~~ NONE
4th ~~~ NONE.....
These info shown in the BIOS...
the Promise contoller shows the 80BB is detected when I set the
Controller from RAID(Default) to IDE mode....

Set the Promise comtroller to RAID-striped (also for just one drive) and it
will work just fine. And yes, An ATA100 HD (or ATA 66 or 33 for that matter)
is okay to use on the Promise controller.
